I have all the McKenzie books on treating joint pain, including for back, neck and shoulder. Recently I got this one on the knee after tweaking my knee which has had two surgeries some years ago for cartilage tears. All the other books I gave five stars to because the McKenzie exercises work for me pretty well. I can’t say the same for the knee exercises. They don’t seem to do any good. The book is comprehensive and informative. Lots of detail and history of the knee’s function, problems, causes and then exercises. I also have tried various knee braces, two of which I got at Amazon and two others elsewhere. None really help for pain and some help with stability. Arthritis is probably my main problem now. I had hoped that these exercises would help and supplement what the braces do. Alas, it was not to be. Meanwhile, I still do the McKenzie exercises daily for my back and neck. The back ones seem to work the best. The neck ones sometimes and the shoulder ones not so good. I will try the knee exercises again to make sure I gave them a fair try.

Fantastic! I had ongoing knee pain when running and/or walking fast, thought it was due to “bad knees” after 2 ACL repairs, but nope– probably more postural, related to too much sitting. Whenever I have knee pain I use these exercises and my knee pain magically gets better. I also very much recommend the neck pain and back pain book in this series. Thank you Robin McKenzie!

Wow, simple exercises take 90% of the pain away in less than a week. I’m bone on bone in both knees with these simple exercises I can walk without a limp.

  4. Bob Reynolds

All the McKenzie books are small, easy to read and well organized. The progression of exercises will let your knee heal. Don’t rush it; be patient; do the exercises. It works!

The book explained how the knee works. The exercises are helpful. However, they didn’t help me that much since I had a tear. Had to be careful with the knee flexion. I used the Treat your own Neck from the same author and it worked wonders for me. The knee is different and may or may not help.

I’ve used two of his other books with great results. This book is no different. It’s made an amazing difference in my knee. After a months use it’s 60 to 70% better. If your looking for an overnight fix this isn’t it. If you read the whole book and do what he says in the order he says it should definitely make it feel better.
